Clinicopathologic study of triple-negative breast cancer with special reference to basal-like breast cancer phenotype in a tertiary care hospital of Eastern India

چکیده
Background: Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is defined as absent expression of estrogen receptor (ER) and progesterone receptors human epidermal growth factor (HER2neu). These cancers are associated with poor prognosis. Aims Objectives: We aimed at to study the clinicopathological profile survival among women TNBC. Materials Methods: The was conducted over a period 4 years. Surgical specimens patients were analyzed histopathologically well immunohistochemical analysis for estrogen, progesterone, HER2neu, Ki-67 index also done. Statistical done using software version 20.0. Results expressed in number percentage. Comparison by x2 test. P=0.05 considered statistically significant. Results: In our study, 26.92% cases Predominant age group affected between 50 70 Most common histologic type invasive carcinoma no special higher grade (Grades 2 3) mostly frequent nodal metastasis. Higher percentage proliferation basal cytokeratin tumor stage along reduced short-term disease-free on follow-up. Conclusion: TNBCs usually recurrences distant There widely accepted prognostic markers available. Panel should be used specially categorize basal-like subtype better clinical outcome.

BACKGROUND Triple negative breast cancers (TNBCs) are a diverse and heterogeneous group of tumors that by definition lack estrogen and progesterone receptors and amplification of the HER-2 gene. The majority of the tumors classified as TNBCs are highly malignant, patients are usually young and only a subgroup of patients responds to conventional chemotherapy with a favorable prognosis. Various ...
متن کاملFuture of Triple Negative Breast Cancer: Can Immunotherapy Treat This Deadly Subtype of Breast Cancer?
Triple negative breast cancer (TNBC): challenges and solutions via the immune cells TNBC is one of the most complicated types of breast cancer to treat. It is generally diagnosed based on the absence of three receptors: estrogen, progesterone, and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) and is thus defined as a triple negative. TNBC is often more aggressive with lower survival rates...
متن کاملVGLL1 expression is associated with a triple-negative basal-like phenotype in breast cancer.
Vestigial-like 1 (VGLL1) is a poorly characterized gene encoding a transcriptional co-activator structurally homologous to TAZ and YAP that modulates the Hippo pathway in Drosophila. In this study, we examined the expression of VGLL1 and its intronic miRNA, miR-934, in breast cancer. VGLL1 and miR-934 expression miRNA profiling was carried out on frozen samples of grade 3 invasive ductal carcin...

Background: Triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) is reported to be associated with a high risk of recurrence, poor overall survival (OS), and disease-free survival (DFS) rates. This study evaluated the clincopathological features and survival of non-metastatic TNBC women in the capital of Iran compared with other areas of the world. Methods: In a retrospective study, 119 women with TNBC based ...
